My English

Hi Everyone!
Today, I will share to you my last post, its sad but true.
Well I will like to talk to you  about English, the programme, the language , what I think about all that.

Sometimes, I wonder about the English importance , its just the only way to communicate , the only way to be part of this world? Why I should  learn English if I'm a Latin? If everyone where I live talks Spanish?
That`s my daily questions when I have to come to English classes.

But when I finally  come to class, it`s no so terrible, is only one step I should take to improve and be a professional, yes that's sounds very capitalistic , but its the ugly truth. English now its  just a way to compete.

Now talking specifically about  the English class. I think that has been very fun, I usually don`t get bored and the atmosphere has been very pleasant to work. I practice my speaking  English that I had quite forgotten since a while. And also with the blog I practice my writing English too, its very fun to have a blog, and tell everyone my thoughts about the subjects.

I think seriously that I have to improved my Speaking English, because when I have to talk to anyone in English I get very nervous. So I have to practice, and get the nervous behind. I will practice with my friends and my sister that speak very well, and she tries to teach me every time she cans.

I use English very often in this career because there is to many text that are on English and there is not translates. There is a very Technic English so its a little hard, but with a good translator I could do it.

Well that was my thought about English! See you soon!

Legislation forces archaeologists to rebury finds

England, February 2011

The Ministry of Justice introduced in 2008 a controversial legislation that threatens to cripple archeological research.
This legislation requires all human remains excavated at digs in England and Wales to be reburied within two years, regardless of their age. That means scientists have too little time to study bones and other human remains of national and cultural significance before to reburied.
In that conditions a group of British archeologist has joined their force and send a letter to the ministry to complain about that legislation, they argued that removing this legislation would give archaeologists the option to study the archeological evidence with new scientific techniques that constantly emerge from research laboratories.
Duncan Sayer, an archaeologist at the University of Central Lancashire says:
"This is a law that was not designed for archaeology and is doing a considerable amount of damage, and because of it we may prevent people in the future from ever being able to explore their past because we have destroyed it.”
When I saw the title of this new, and thought “How could this be possible?!”, Archeologist reburying things? , This can happen?
Well it does, it happens, in UK. I choose this article because I want to be an archeologist, I have to concern about the  problems on archaeology and defend the rights that too many times are broken , I suppose that the job of archeologist is excavated and found thing under the earth, NOT rebury what you found..
I think sometimes the politics are not good focused on the real problems that it has to resolve, like in this case, if the politicians get to know more about the consequences that involves the politics they do, maybe less problems show up.

Mi Mejor Enemigo...

Hi Everyone!
Today I Would like to talk to you about a movie that I really like, and in my opinion everybody should see it.

Keeping with the patriotic subject, I would like to talk to you about: “Mi Mejor Enemigo”.
This is a chilean/ argentine/spanish movie opened  in 2005, directed by the Chilean director Alex Bowen. It stars Nicolás Saavedra, Erto Pantoja and Felipe Braun (Chilean actors)

This film tells the story of a 5 man Chilean patrol lost in Patagonia during the Beagle conflict of December 1978. The patrol becomes lost and builds a trench in the middle of the Patagonian plains only to discover that there is an Argentine trench in front of them. The Argentine group is also lost and unsure of the actual location of the country's border. The story is set during a period in which war seems imminent, and portrays these two groups interacting in ways both friendly and conflictive (hence the title of the movie).
I saw this movie with my older sister in Curico`s cinema a 7 years ago , because she was studying History in college and one of her friends recommends it to her. When we saw it we found that the movie doesn’t talk just about historic events (we thought it was about that), It talks about the fraternity, the fights the troubles that appears when you are alone and in war, and obviously in a place that you don’t know and is the last place on earth.

I really like that beyond the war, the mans that fitght were humans, having troubles, having fun, getting suffer. And, after all they help each other because there’s no one there beside themselves, and they found that they were fighting a war that doesn’t belong to themes.
Also I really like the movie, because I fall in love with the protagonist of the movie (Nicolás Saavedra) aajajjajaja , but was just a passenger love.

¡Aún tenemos Patria, ciudadanos!

Hi!
As you can see, my post has become finally in a very patriotic one….because today I will like to tell you about The greatest Chilean of all time( for me obviously) …
The fatherland defender… Manuel Rodriguez!
This Guerrilla leader born in Santiago on February 27, 1785. He is considered one of founder of independent Chile. He took a lot of roles like lawyer, politician, soldier and  guerrilla leader  in the independent process.
In the “ Reconquista” period his work as a bushwhacker, spy an principal figure of the resistance made of him something like a myth and a popular legend in everyplace in Chile. In fact He was the most-wanted man during the rule of the Spanish Governor of Chile.
One of his remembers heroic deeds were his assaults on Melipilla and San Fernando that became in a important part of San Martín's strategy to divert attention away from the "Liberating Army" that entered Chile and triumphed at the Battle of Chacabuco.
Sadly he dies betray with a bullet wound on his back nearly to Til-til while He was moving to Quilota`s jail.
At this time Manuel has become in a very popular Icon, inspiring poetry and a lot of Folk Literature and Music as “El Aparecido” a knowing song from Victor Jara inspired in Manuel Rodriguez “ El guerrillero”.
He is really cute isn`t it?
Now that I look his biography and I can tell all the great things he do for his Fatherland, I would really  like to met him, and asking a lot of questions, for example I´d would like to ask him ¿What he thinks that fatherland is? ¿Where he takes all that power to protect it? I can’t ask him… but anyway all his heroic deeds make me believe in his person and in the power and solidarity of human beings.

The Power of language

Hi everyone! Today I`m going to talk about Language
How I can tell from Mark Pagel talk :"How language transformed humanity", language it`s the only solution to end with the selfishness , how Pagel explain on the video language has been as the big and fantastic tool that the human could ever invented. If we think a little bit, nothing will exist if we didn't have language , everything we do as a social individuals we do trough the language. And we can live alone, we need the others ones , that`s  why we called sometimes social animals , and Mark Pagel says so...we used language because we need to cooperated between us, its the essential thing to be  part of the society , to be part of a family, to have friends.
At this Globalization times, English has been the tool to express to others our feelings, our thoughts...everything.We can be part of this one big world knowing english. Somebodys says that all is work of  Yankee Imperialism ...I do the same sometimes, but  after this video I think a little deeper and I realize that using the same language is the only way to share with others, to make friends, to make a better world that respect the differences. Sharing our knowledge , ideas, good feelings... and spread the peace around the world. :)  At the end that`s the thing that make us humans.

The best celebration of the year: National Holidays

How you can tell, I´m very patriotic (that for my blog calls The patriotic pig ), so for me september is the best month ever. The streets ,the people, the houses get very colorful , flags everywhere, the smell of "empanadas", barbecued meat, “mote con huesillo”...The cheerful kites in the sky...the people getting celebrate , happy, relax, and living their problems behind, and also the beginning of spring....all that magic combination makes September  the best month of the year!

Well in this National Holidays I come back to my hometown: Teno, a little town in the seventh region, near to Curicó. I enjoyed the all week with my family, friends in my house, doing Empanadas, barbecues, Pajaritos (this are like a sweet bread very typical of the south). We danced "Cueca", Cumbias, Mexican music (very country alike) and all that parties’ music. In fact in front of my house there was a "Fonda" so... we went there everyday and had party there, was very funny have like a our own Fonda...and party with my brother, parents , cousins and uncles.
Also with my brothers, we try to fly a kite....but we fail...we try like a hundred times to fly just one Kite and we couldn`t... Was a BIG FAIL of our proud...but anyway we had a great time laughing of our fail....
I havent came to my home since we get into college ...so I take this opportunity to see my old friends from school!, we met and we do like a party, that we called "Nguillatún Patriótico" we drank "Terremotos”, we danced cueca...and the most of time we remember the old times...all the good memories that we have from our school.

Yes, was a very good 18, I ate, danced, saw my family again...and enjoyed every moment of that mini-vacations!

Me ( with my Chilean Flag T-shirt ajajajas) and my brother
                                                     drinking Terremoto.
